3,170 vehicles impounded since March 23

Chandigarh: A total of 3,170 vehicles have been impounded by the Chandigarh Police for curfew violations since March 23.Police figures reveal that 2,301 two-wheelers, 793 four-wheelers and 76 autos have been impounded so far, while as many as 5,815 vehicles have been detained. The number of people who have been rounded up till date is 11,190, while 202 have been booked under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Court for curfew violations.

The police said 443 persons were rounded up on Friday, while 192 vehicles were detained and 286 impounded in different parts of the city
