Evacuation of Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand residents from Chandigarh

Himachal and the Uttrakhand State are sending their roadways buses to ferry their citizens who are stuck in Chandigarh as of lockdown imposed to counter the coronavirus infection. Government of India permitted movement of stranded people migrants, students and tourists during lockdown.

In compliance with a guideline regarding the shifting of stranded people of other states to their home districts. Chandigarh Police acted professionally to evacuate them. Accordingly, some places in Chandigarh earmarked for purposes Rally ground, Sector-25, Plaza, Sector-17, Sector-28 ground, Community center Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Shivalik Garden Manimajra near Infosys Building, Sector-34 Mela ground, ISBT, Sector-43, Main ground, Sector-40, Chandigarh. In this process today, persons departed are as under:-

Besides this 550 persons of Uttra Khand are in process of leaving for home districts.

In view of above, Chandigarh police has made elaborated law and order arrangement and also liased with the Chandigarh Administration, Himachal Bhawan authorities and Uttrakahnd Police. Chandigarh Police deployed sufficient police force to maintain social distancing between the stranded peoples by making queues and sitting arrangement at all 11 pickup points.
