Dino Safari” screened in 3 –D Theater

We are in an era in which the economy of every nation depends upon its strength in Science and Technology. During the last couple of years, Indian economy has been on the rise and the overall credit of this development goes to successful implementation of Science, Technology and Innovation programs. These were the views expressed by Sh. Vishesh Sarangal IAS Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala at the occasion of screening of new 3D Film “Dino Safari” at Pushpa Gurjal Science City, Kapurthala. Further, he appreciated the various facilities setup at Science City as well as efforts being made to inculcate scientific temper in the society and emphasized that every student must visit Science City to learn science through interactive way as well as inspired to the exciting world of science.

Dr. Neelima Jerath Director General Science City present at the occasion said that, Education through entertainment has a positive impact on understanding difficult scientific concepts and long term learning. Presently, a 3D film on antibiotics was being screened at 3D Theater Science City . Now, PGSC has procured license for “Dino Safari”, a 3D animation film, which is thrilling, as well as, educational as it will make visitors learn about ecosystems & evolution and take them to a unique tour of a dinosaur reserve wherein they would get inspired by touching distance of a giant Diplodocus and the ferocious T-Rex as they travel through the jungle.

PGSC also celebrated National Science Day jointly with Punjab State Council for Science & Technology Chandigarh. . The theme of this year’s celebration was ‘Global Science for Global Wellbeing’ which indicated the country’s emerging global role and rising visibility in the international arena.

Dr. Himesh Sharma, Advisor to Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development was the expert speaker at this occasion. He delivered a special talk on “Role of Science in Entrepreneurship education“. Interacting with students, he said that entrepreneurship education aids students from all socio economic backgrounds to think outside the box and nurture unconventional talents and skills. A good entrepreneur utilizes the scientific method to start their own Ventures. Entrepreneurship education can shape students mind set, attitudes and behavior to become a true entrepreneur that could create job opportunities, he added.

A declamation competition on role of science for global wellbeing was also organized for school students on this occasion. The first prize was won by Suchi from K.V CRPF Sari Khas second prize was bagged by _Janisha Bhatia from St.Joseph convent School Jalandhar whereas Vanshdeep from DIPS Maksoodan Jalandhar got the third prize.
