INLD Leader Abhay Chautala condemnes steep hike in fuel prices

Chandigarh:  In view of the steady increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, INLD leader Chaudhary Abhay Chautala lashed out at the Center and the BJP-JJP government saying that it was like spraying salt on the wounds of the people.  In the last sixteen days, diesel has become expensive by Rs 9.45 and petrol by Rs 8.30 per liter. The center and state government continuously increasing the oil prices by increasing heavy taxes on it. This is the biggest increase in the price of oil till date.

The INLD leader said that due to the Corona epidemic, all the occupations have been badly affected, while people are losing their jobs and unemployment has reached its peak.  Crude oil prices have reached the lowest level in the international market but the government is doing injustice to the public by continuously increasing the prices of oil.  He said that the situation has become very worrying for the transporter and automobile industry in the recession.  Due to increase in oil prices, food and other basic products will become expensive due to which the general public will be hit by inflation. This will also have a bad impact on farmers and growing crops will become more expensive.  Increasing the cost of crops will adversely affect the economic condition of farmers.

He said that the government should stop this increase by reducing the tax on petrol and diesel prices so that the general public can get rid of this rising inflation.  If the government continues to increase the price of such oil continuously, then the day is not far when people will be forced to go on the streets against the government and agitate.  The INLD leader said that despite the decline in the prices of crude oil, the BJP government, instead of giving relief to the common man, has robbed them of their pockets.
