The Muslim religious leaders decided no one will come to the Masjid for offering Namaj

Chandigarh: In order to professional competence, the Chandigarh police are committed to its motto “We Care For You”. Today in a rare example of brotherhood among the different communities Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, DGP Chandigarh Police alongwith Omvir Singh Bishnoai, IPS, DIG/UT, Nilambari Jagadale, IPS, SSP/UT, Vineet Kumar, IPS, SP/City, Ram Gopal DSP CID, Charanjit Singh Virk, DSP/PRO, Dilsher Singh, SDPO/East and other Police officers reached out to religious leaders of Muslim Community and presented 1000 piece of Janamaj (Mats to offer Namaj) and 2000 packets (200 gram each) of Dates (Khajoor) to Molana AJmal Khan of Jama Masjid Sector-20, Mufti Anas of Masjid BDC Sector-26, Kari Shamsher of Masjid Sector-45 and Imam Mohd. Imran of Masjid Manimajra, UT Chandigarh, as a gesture of humanity, on the occasion of Ramjan Month of Muslims to be started from 25.04.2020. This unique move will definitely cement the brotherhood relationship and communal harmony among the communities, especially in Muslims, not only in Chandigarh but in the whole country.

The religious leaders of Muslim Community also pay their respect to the move of the Chandigarh Police and presented a shawl and Itter to the DGP Chandigarh and Itter to the other officers present on the occasion as a token of affection.

The Muslim religious leaders have decided before the media that no one will come to the Masjid for offering Namaj rather they have offer their Namaj at their homes only, which is a welcome step in fight together against the pandemic COVID-19.Kari Shamsher also said that it is the first time after the Independence that the Muslim Community is not coming in Masjids to offer Namaj during the month of Ramjan, which is an example in the interest of our Country and humanity because pandemic worldwide Corona virus does not recognised any religion, caste, colour, race. Therefore, we are all together in fight against dreaded COVID-19 and not to visit Masjid even during Ramjan Month. In order to ensure it Molanas of the Masjidswill also give a message during Ajaan to all the members of Muslim community to offer Namaj at their Homes only and not to visit Masjids.
